How this is measured

Every 30 seconds or so (less often where an agency limits requests) the site reads where BC Transit Victoria's vehicles are, and notes when each trip reaches each stop. A stop arrival is on time from a minute early to five minutes late, the standard most Canadian agencies use. Where vehicles don't say which stop they're at, the feed's last prediction before the stop drops out stands in.

A trip is missing when it never showed up in the feed at all. Hours when the feed was silent for every trip are left out, since that is more likely an outage in the data than in service; days with many such hours are marked as partly recorded. A bus running without its tracker on also counts as missing, so treat small shares with care.
